While she is trained as a painter and is also an excellent printmaker, Eunice Parsons is best known for her work in collage. She found her way to this medium in the 1970's and has been working from her vast store of paper ever since. Parsons, who studied art as a child in Chicago, abandoned it to raise her children, only returning to the studio in her 30's, when she attended the Museum Art School (now the Pacific Northwest College of Art). She went on to teach there for many years. Over the years, Parsons has also made several lively drawings, particularly of animals, like this spirited bison.
