Sarah Horowitz

Sarah Horowitz studied printmaking at the University of Massachusetts, Hamphire College, Chatauqua School of Art and the Glassell School of Art (Houston).? For fourteen years she was member of Atelier Mars printmaking workshop in SE Portland, and taught printmaking at Portland State University.? In addition to prints and drawings, Horowitz produces hand printed and bound artist’s books under her imprint Wiesedruck.? In her studio on Leavenworth, Washington,?using a refurbished etching press formerly owned by the artist Leonard Baskin, Horowitz carries on Baskin’s tradition of finely-made artist’s books. She has received several grants from Portland State University and the Regional Arts and Culture Council, Oregon. Her prints and drawings are represented by Froelick Gallery in Portland, Oregon and her books by Kenneth Shure (Gehenna Press/Two Ponds Press). Horowitz’ books and prints are in public and private collections throughout the world, including the Library of Congress, Portland Art Museum, Stanford University Green Library, New York Public Library, Wesleyan University, and Yale University Bienecke Library.
