An Oregon artist, Bobbie Jansen has specialized in still-life paintings for many years. She speaks of her process as finding a connection to the objects in her paintings, and looking for their significance to her. Ultimately, though, she wants her paintings to convey a deeper message to the viewer. As she notes, "A painting's success is not as much related to a particular reading of the objects, but more for its capacity to transcend them."
