How can I earn college credit for military training?
Updated October 10, 2022
PCC credit may be granted for formal military coursework after careful evaluation of transcripts, records and information provided in the Guide to the Educational Experiences in the Armed Services. Only subject areas taught by PCC will be considered. For credit in Career/Technical Education programs, the department chair will determine any course equivalencies.
To request credit for military training, use the PCC Catalog to identify the subject area that is comparable to your military coursework, have your official military transcripts (AARTS or SMART) sent to PCC, and complete a request evaluation. Your documentation will be forwarded to the department chairperson for course equivalency evaluation. You may also contact individual departments to inquire about their policies regarding college credit for military training.
Three credit hours of Physical Education (PE) may be automatically granted for military training; a copy of the DD 214 must be submitted along with a request evaluation.
