What do I do after I have been added to the wait list for a class?

Updated October 11, 2022

If you put yourself on the waitlist for a class and a space becomes available, you will automatically be taken off of the waitlist and registered for the class.?You will be notified of this action by an email to your MyPCC email account.
In order to avoid deletion for non-payment, make payment arrangements the same day you are added to the course. Should you decide you do not want to remain registered for the class, you must drop by the drop deadlines.? See more about how to drop a class.

If you are registered for the same course as one you’re waitlisted for, when your time comes to be auto-enrolled, the system will not put you in the class, but delete you from the waitlist.? Example: If you registered for a PSY 215 class but really want the one you are waitlisted for, the system will see that as a duplicate course and delete the PSY 215 course you were still waitlisted for.

Do not assume the college will delete you for non-payment.

To avoid being charged for a class in which you become registered, it is your responsibility to drop the class.? It is also your responsibility for the accuracy of scheduling your classes. You should always attend class on the first day of the new term.? Many instructors will add students who show up the first day whether they are on the waitlist or not. If your instructor agrees to add you to the class, they will need to complete an online override for you.? Once that override is processed, you will receive an email to your MyPCC account notifying you that you need to register for the course. You must complete your course registration within the late add period (two business days after the course drop deadline).? See more about getting on a waitlist.
