Is my record of being a student at PCC kept confidential?

Portland Community College follows all applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations that apply to student records. All information contained in the college records which is personally identifiable to any student is confidential and will not be released except upon prior written consent of the student, or upon the lawful subpoena or other order of a court of competent jurisdiction. Student information may be shared among college faculty and staff who have a legitimate educational interest. (Policy B 407)

If you would like to authorize the release of confidential information to a family member or another third party, you may submit a Consent to Release form by doing the following:

  1. Login to MyPCC.
  2. From the Home tab, locate the Quick Links channel.
  3. Click on the Consent to Release link.

You can also submit the consent to release form by mail. A consent to release authorization will remain in effect until the student invalidates it by completing a new form or deleting permissions online.
