Do “D” grades earned at PCC count toward my degree or certificate?

Updated October 24, 2022

In many cases coursework completed with a grade of “D” will still count toward your degree or certificate. However, specific degrees, certificates, or coursework require a “C” or better. For example, the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree requires that all coursework be completed with a “C” or better, as does all Math and Writing Competency coursework.

Consult the Degree, Certificate and Course Overview section of the current PCC Catalog for comprehensive degree requirement information. Also, if you are pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in one of the Career/Technical Education (CTE) programs, be sure to check the specific section for that program. If you have any doubts or questions about degree or certificate requirements, arrange to meet with an academic advisor or your CTE program advisor or faculty chair.
