Updated October 10, 2022
For a Bachelor Degree,?a major is a primary focus of study and a minor is a secondary focus of study. For example, you could major in Business and minor in Spanish. Majors are typically chosen to compliment a student’s career goal, and a minor may be chosen to enhance the major. Both majors and minors are awarded by four-year institutions.
At PCC, you can take the 100 and 200 level courses that may be required for your major or minor as part of an associate degree such as the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree (AAOT), Associate of Science (AS), or Associate?of?Science Oregon Transfer Business (ASTOB).?Be sure to work with an advisor to determine which of our degrees is appropriate for your intended major, minor, and?institution.
