How do I forward my PCC email to a personal email account?

Updated October 17, 2022

You can have your MyPCC email forwarded to another email address, such as a Gmail or Hotmail email account (however, we do not recommend forwarding email to Yahoo, due to mail filtering issues). Forwarding your MyPCC email to outside Internet accounts entails substantial risks. ISP policies, such as Yahoo’s treatment of PCC email as spam, may keep email from ever arriving. In some cases, the mail may be discarded without any notification to the sender.

Forwarding is likely to introduce additional delays in transit, and can cause confusion for email senders and extra work for mail administrators when things do not go smoothly. Spam email, which also gets forwarded, is often rejected with misleading error messages, causing confusion along the way.

Here’s how to set your forwarding options so that you receive your MyPCC email in another email account:

  1. From the top right of your PCC email account, click on the circular gears icon > Mail Settings.
  2. Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  3. Click on the “Add a forwarding address” icon.
  4. Click “Save Changes” at bottom of page.

If you decide to forward your MyPCC email, here are some tips:

  • Immediately send a test message to the MyPCC address and ensure that it shows up in the outside account each time an address change is made. If normal email stops appearing, repeat this test to be sure things are still OK.
  • Maintain enough space in your outside account to receive messages. Email bounces due to full mailboxes can create many problems.
  • Remove the forwarding if you discontinue your outside email account.
  • Do not forward your outside account back to MyPCC, as mailing loops result.
  • Do not forward your MyPCC account to your MyPCC address. This disables your account from receiving email and causes confusing failure messages to be sent to senders.
