Can I transfer credits to PCC from a foreign school?
Updated October 7, 2022
Yes. PCC will consider accepting credit for any of our associate degrees or certificates. Most credits accepted will be used as electives, but if course descriptions are supplied and content is clear, credit may be used to meet other requirements. Only lower division coursework, or that equivalent to the first two years at a U.S. college will be evaluated. All decisions made by the Student Records/Graduation?office are final.
It is the responsibility of?the student?to have?transcripts (credits) from foreign schools translated (if necessary) and evaluated for acceptance toward a PCC degree or certificate.
Follow these steps to have your foreign transfer credits evaluated by PCC:
- Have your official transcripts translated (if necessary) into English.
- Send your transcripts, course descriptions, and the English translation to a credential evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. A fee is required. Be sure to request a “course-by-course/detail” evaluation.
- Have an official copy of the evaluation sent to:
PCC Student Records
PO Box 19000
Portland, OR 97280-0990
You can quickly and easily request that your transcript from other schools be evaluated by following these easy steps:
- Log into MyPCC.
- From the Home tab, locate the “Quick Links” channel.
- Click on “Transfer Credit Evaluation”.
You will be notified through your MyPCC email account when your evaluation has been completed.
