What is the difference between quarter and semester credits?

Updated October 12, 2022

The difference is the amount of weeks you are in the class.

A quarter school (like PCC) is comprised of 4 terms per year: fall, winter, spring, and summer term (optional) each lasting 11-12 weeks.

A semester school would consist of?3 semesters per year: fall, spring, and summer (optional)?each semester lasting 15-16 weeks.

This means that credits are different at each of these schools. 1 semester credit = 1.5 quarter credits.
