? Student Spotlight: Where Are They Now? Jordan’s Full Circle Journey with Career Pathways ?

In 2021, Jordan was navigating personal challenges and uncertain about his next steps when a friend introduced him to the Portland Community College Career Pathways & STEP program. With guidance and support from a Career Pathways Coach, Jordan not only discovered the Human Services Certificate (HSS) program but also earned both his AA and Bachelor’s degree—an accomplishment he never thought possible. ??
? What makes Jordan’s story truly special is how he has come full circle. After graduating, Jordan was encouraged by his previous Career Pathways Coach to apply for a role at PCC. In late 2021, Jordan landed a job in New Student Advising and Registration, which eventually led to a role back in Career Pathways coaching.
Now, he works as a Future Connect Coach at Portland Community College, helping students the same way they were once supported through the Career Pathways and STEP program. Jordan’s journey from participant to coach is a testament to the transformative power of the program and the lasting impact it can have on a person’s life. They now get to give back to students, helping them find their path, build confidence, and reach their goals—just like Career Pathways once did for them.
? Jordan’s advice to others is simple but heartfelt: “Believe in yourself, explore every opportunity, and take advantage of the resources around you. You never know what might change your life.” ???
