Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
This course is required for an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Architectural Design and Drafting.
Transferability of credit depends entirely upon the institution to which the student wishes to transfer.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- Draw as built drawings of an existing residence based on measured and recorded conditions.
- Define a project program based on site analysis and client interview for an addition/remodel to an existing residence.
- Draw schematic design drawings to communicate solution to client.
- Create a set of construction documents including structural analysis and design of structural system for a new addition/remodel.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
- Participation in studio work sessions, class discussions and critiques
- Proper and timely completion of class projects, which demonstrate effective use of knowledge
- Evaluation procedures will be presented at the first class meeting.
- Student grades will be based on satisfactory completion of assigned projects.

Themes, Concepts, and Issues:
This is a studio-based class: assignments, discussions, and seminars will take place in class, and attendance is expected. Assignments will revolve around studio exercises, discussions, out of class assignments and critical reviews.
