Course Description

Provides comprehensive Limited Building Maintenance Electrician outreach safety training. Targets anyone involved in Limited Electrical industry and specifically targets safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors involved with the LBME License. Provides complete information on safety rules and regulations necessary or the LBME.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  1. Practice safety processes in regard to Personal Protective Equipment.
  2. Practice safety processes through the correct use of Electrical Meters.
  3. Practice safety processes on a limited variety of electrical  equipment and devices.
  4. Demonstrate appropriate use and care of trade-specific equipment.*
  5. Demonstrate safe working conditions in accordance with state and federal regulations.*

*Required for statewide Apprenticeship degree.

Course Activities and Design

Course content will be delivered primarily in a lecture format accompanied by demonstrations of the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the proper use of electrical meters and other electrical current detection devices.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

Outcomes assessment will be accomplished using a comprehensive Final Exam and though  student demonstration of the proper use of Electrical Meters with an  Instructor using a skills checklist
