Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
The Professional Pilot course will provide students who choose the non-instructor route the flight time and experience to help them acquire a job in aviation. Advanced aircraft operation, instrument skills, and other areas covered earlier in the program will be refined. Standards in the aviation industry will be implemented through out the training. 40 hours in a single engine and 25 hours in a multi-engine aircraft will be used to accomplish this. Lecture/discussion/demonstration sessions and lab practice supported by written and multi-media materials will present students the information need to accomplish this. Class participants will be expected to invest time outside of class to master the course content.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to:
- Understand the advanced procedures that will be expected in a professional cockpit environment.
- Demonstrate how to operate a single and multi-engine aircraft in a safe, professional manner.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
At the beginning of the course, the instructor will explain the methods used to evaluate and record student progress, and the criteria for assigning a course grade evaluation methods will include written, oral, and practical testing.
