Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

Identify an information need for a specific purpose.

Apply the process of effective information seeking, employing metacognition, intellectual curiosity, persistence, and creative thinking.

Use critical reading and thinking skills to seek, select, evaluate, and attribute sources appropriate for information needs.

Begin to use specialized vocabulary related to information literacy.

Deepen intellectual curiosity and expanding creative thinking
Encourage students to begin engagement with “threshold concepts which are those ideas in any discipline that are passageways or portals to enlarged understanding or ways of thinking and practicing within that discipline” (Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education)
