Course Description
Emphasizes the basic principles of the dental hygiene process of care. Introduces foundational concepts required for dental hygiene practice. Covers theoretical concepts which are coordinated with Dental Hygiene Practice I.

Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
- Complete a thorough patient assessment, including medical history reviews, oral health examinations, and risk assessments.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to identify oral health conditions, enabling accurate diagnosis and formulation of appropriate treatment plans.
- Exhibit professionalism and ethical conduct in all aspects of dental hygiene practice.
- Recognize ethical principles and standards, ensuring patient confidentiality, informed consent, and respect for diversity in the delivery of care.
