Course Description

Expands on dental hygiene theory and practice. Emphasizes patient care considerations related to human growth and development, supplemental care, and advanced concepts.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:

  1. Evaluate instrument care and sharpening.
  2. Assess and recommend treatment for dentinal hypersensitivity.
  3. Explain periodontal disease development.
  4. Apply evaluation principles in dental hygiene practice.
  5. Design continuing care plans.
