Course Description

Covers oral embryology, histology, dental anatomy, tooth development and function. Provides foundational knowledge required for dental hygiene clinical and restorative practices.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:

  1. Practice proficiency in tooth identification and tooth numbering systems.
  2. Distinguish between adult and primary dentitions.
  3. Classify occlusions.
  4. Explain oral tissue histology.
  5. Analyze oral tissue development and pathology.
