Course Description

Continues the study of denture construction. Includes the use of articulators, finishing procedures, reline, rebasing and repair techniques. Audit available.

Addendum to Course Description

Intro to immediate dentures and overdentures may be presented at the end of the term in preparation for the following term labs.

1. Articulate the history/philosophy of denture design and the construction of dentures.

2. Identify and follow denture processing and postoperative procedures.

3. Describe denture reline, repair and  rebase procedures.

Utilizing direct instruction previously presented in DT 101, Students will:

Prepare and present student discussion and answer follow-up questions

Collaborate, critique and discuss student designed notebook on characterization of teeth.

Collaboration with the Dentist and other health care team members in order to fabricate the appliance to meet each specific patient needs

Team work among lab tech employees necessary to complete fabrication of appliances
