Course Description

Introduces CAD/CAM technology and Dental Implant Systems, and provides an overview of the oral care delivery system. Includes new emerging technology, products and procedures. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Apply basic knowledge to operate CAD/CAM systems in the dental laboratory setting.
  • Compare and contrast a variety of dental implant systems currently utilized in the dental field.
  • Explain procedural techniques for design and fabrication of dental implant restorations.
  • Utilize knowledge of the role of the dental lab technician as it relates to the overall oral health care delivery system.
  • Incorporate new products and techniques that emerge in the field of dental laboratory technology.
