Course Description

Explores capacitance, inductance, and RC/RL transient response. Covers more advanced analysis of AC/DC series/parallel circuits including node voltage and mesh current analysis, superposition, Thevenin's, Norton's, and maximum power transfer network theorems. Includes a 3-hour per week laboratory. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

1. Use AC/DC concepts to analyze circuits.

2. Build and simulate AC/DC electrical circuits.

3. Perform measurements with electronic test equipment.

4. Write technical reports using collected experiment data.

Course Activities and Design

Lectures include a diverse array of activities such as assignments and tests. Laboratory activity includes building circuits on solder-less breadboards, making circuit measurements using test equipment, and analyzing test data.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

Evaluation is by exams, assignments, and lab work.
