Course Description
Explores basic digital electronics concepts. Includes number systems, Boolean algebra, logic simplification, and circuit troubleshooting. Includes analysis of digital logic using digital circuit simulations and basic spreadsheet skills. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion students should be able to:
- Use basic electrical digital systems concepts and theorems to analyze circuits.
- Build and simulate electrical digital systems circuits and perform measurements with electronic test equipment.
- Solve problems in electronics by applying programmatic thought and using calculators and computer applications designed for data manipulation.
- Write technical reports using collected experiment data.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Assessment methods are to be determined by the instructor. Typically, in-class quizzes, online quizzes, exams and weekly homework assignments will be used. Laboratory assessment will be by reports and/or practical skills testing.
