Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
This course will be presented by means of lecture/discussion sessions, demonstration and the “Hands-On” laboratory exercises. Allen Bradley Panel View Plus Operator Interfaces and Rockwell Software RS View Machine Edition software will be used to conduct the course.
Intended Outcomes for the course
- Learn the basics of HMI program design
- Understand basic programming techniques and implementation
- Learn the basic graphic interfaces and their application as they relate to industrial controls and the manufacturing facility.
- Create programs for different applications, utilizing programmable graphics.
- Set up Data Log- in
- Design Graphic Displays
Course Activities and Design
Using “Hands-On” programming with a computer, the student will design, create, modify and test basic HMI programs for different industrial applications. Students will actively participate in project creation and implementation from initial design requirements to final testing.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Procedures will be discussed at the first class session and the instructor’s grading policy will be referenced on the class syllabus. Assessment will be based on attendance, participation, personal improvement, homework, quizzes, and the final examination.
