Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
Course can also be used to meet the Washington State licensing renewal requirements through the WA/OR reciprocity agreement. A Course Completion Certificate for continuing education will be issued upon request to any participant who successfully passes the course. Attendance rosters will be sent to the state for certification purposes. Please note that the electrician's license renewal fee is not included in the cost of the course. A current National Electric Code Book is required.
Intended Outcomes for the course
- Locate and interpret these parts of the NEC Codebook that relate to Underwriters Laboratories testing of Electrical Equipment.
- Demonstrate understanding of an approved testing procedure.
- Understand proper display of attached UL labels for inspection purposes.
- Differentiate between equipment approved for installation within a jurisdiction and not approved for installation in the same jurisdiction.
Course Activities and Design
The course is in a lecture format using visuals and some printed materials coupled with question and answer sessions.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Assessment will be accomplished with two in class quizzes and several short written assignments. Grading is Pass/No-Pass unless a student requests a letter grade. Letter grades will require an additional quiz.
