Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of this course students should be able to:
- Identify the function of each engine sub-system and how they relate with each other.
- Identify individual components on various engines.
- Explain the pros and cons of different engine fuel systems and their applications.
- Efficiently navigate and use a variety of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) diagnostic tooling.
- Systematically approach engine issues, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems.
- Describe diesel emissions and explain the fundamentals upon which they operate.
Course Activities and Design
This is an outcome based course utilizing a lecture/lab format. This course includes videos, assignments, demonstrations, lectures, and hands on learning. This course will be taught using industry electric power generation equipment and curriculum.
