Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
- Identify all components related to generators, alternators, and motors.
- Distinguish unique operating characteristics of generators, alternators, and motors.
- Explain different winding construction, configuration, and applications.
- Describe single-phase and three-phase alternator construction.
- Configure three-phase stator windings and explain their applications.
- Explain how voltage regulation is accomplished.
Course Activities and Design
This is an outcome based course utilizing a lecture/lab format. This course includes videos, assignments, demonstrations, lectures, and hands on learning. This course will be taught using industry electric power generation equipment and curriculum.
