Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
FR 290B is designed to provide advanced students of French with the opportunity for practice in developing writing and composition skills. The course is offered for two transfer credit hours and counts as an elective for associate degrees.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Course activities will include discussion of composition skills and practice with advanced grammar and structural points. Improvement will be demonstrated through written projects. It is expected that each student's basic understanding of French grammar, syntax, and acceptable written forms will be extended. French will be used at all times.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
- Student attendance and participation will be appraised to determine improvement in student's composition skills and knowledge of advanced grammar and structural points.
- Demonstrated improved understanding of French grammar, syntax, and acceptable written forms through class participation, written assignments and projects.
- Corrected assignments must be revised to reinforce correct structure
- Individual and/or group presentations which may contain audio or visual components
Course Content (Themes, Concepts, Issues and Skills)
THEMES, CONCEPTS AND ISSUES
Writing assignments and projects may include a variety of written forms, including correspondence, business writing, and creative writing. Journals or long-term projects including research papers may be assigned to very advanced students. All assignments must be written in French, and French will be used at all times in the classroom.
