Course Description

Provides an opportunity to gain experience at a graphic design worksite or at a business employing graphic designers. Provides opportunities for new learning, skill development and practicing skills learned in the required courses. Requires coordination and approval by the instructor, the on-site supervisor and PCC Cooperative Education Specialist.

Addendum to Course Description

The student will have successfully completed two terms with a minimum of 12 credit hours of study at PCC with at least a 2.00 GPA and the approval of their Cooperative Education Specialist or instructor, exceptions to this can be made for high school completion students with the approval of their advisor and Cooperative Education Specialist.

Intended Outcomes for the course


Students should be able to:

  • Apply acquired graphic design skills, knowledge, and training in a work place setting. 

Course Activities and Design


The student, Cooperative Education Coordinator, and the employer develop a work experience plan which will meet the learning needs of the student. This plan provides a definition of the on-the-job learning activities.

Outcome Assessment Strategies


This is a pass / no pass class based on the successful completion of the learning objectives and employer evaluation.
