Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students will be able to:

Apply industry-standard UAS operations and safety protocols to effectively plan and execute missions.

Use an understanding of FAA and National Airspace System regulations, along with UAV operation ethics to plan and carry out UAV flight operations.

Integrate factors impacting UAV flight such as environment, weather, and geography into planning and operations.

Fly UAVs using manual controls and waypoint planning for automatic flight.
-
Utilize remote sensing technologies to collect optical data via UAV platforms.
- Perform post-flight telemetry data analysis and image processing to create quality aerial survey and mapping products.
Aspirational Goals
Be efficient and resourceful to problem solve both technical and process-oriented issues.
Course Activities and Design
The materials in this course will be presented in a computer lab and field setting through classroom lecture, discussion, software demonstrations, peer critique, and computer-based assignments. Other methods may be implemented such as small group work and in-class activities.
