Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
This is the fourth course of a 6 course, 14 credit sequence in therapeutic horticulture required by the Therapeutic Horticulture Activity Specialist Certificate of Completion and accreditation with the American Horticultural Therapy Association.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- Conduct and evaluate activities, and individual and group horticulture therapy sessions.
- 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网 and present pediatric and geriatric case studies based on therapeutic and development models appropriate to a variety of cognitive impairments and other disabling conditions.
Course Activities and Design
Course is conducted as a class web, including contact with the therapeutic horticulture programs and therapeutic gardens. Includes a combination of reading, lecture, discussion, observation and practice in the program and garden, and in other locations. Focuses on program design, implementation and assessment, evaluation of program for intergenerational, children, and frail elder populations in a variety of treatment settings.
Outcome Assessment Strategies
Students will demonstrate they have met the learning outcomes through various means, including assessment, documentation, task analysis, session plans, and case studies; written and oral examination; and group and individual projects.

Treatment issues related to stroke, spinal cord injury, MS, diabetes, cardiac conditions, amputation, traumatic brain injury, developmental disabilities, cancer, mental illness and other orthopedic and neurological impairments
