Course Description
Offers advanced individualized study of history on a specified topic to meet special interests or program requirements. Involves completion of a project and readings on a topic approved by the instructor. Instructor permission required. Audit available.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion students must be able to:
*Articulate an understanding of the key events in the specified topic of study and use critical thinking to evaluate historical changes and their impact on society
and culture.
*Recognize the diverse contributions of the specified topic in order to appreciate and evaluate society.
*Identify culturally-grounded assumptions which have influenced the perceptions and behaviors of and about peoples in the specified topic of study.
*Communicate effectively using historical analysis.
*Connect the past with the present to encourage civic engagement.
