Course Description

Provides an introduction to creating, editing, and analyzing 3D models. 欧洲杯决赛竞猜app_欧洲杯足球网-投注|官网s foundational skills to work with, and navigate the digital 3D modeling workspace to create 3D objects. Examines basic elements of the 3D development of modeling, texturing, lighting, animating, and rendering. Audit available.

Addendum to Course Description

Students who successfully complete this course will develop quality 3D models and animations", available for various delivery options, CD-ROM, and disk. Optimizing for the World Wide Web will also be discussed. Graphics produced in this course will be evaluated and reviewed by the instructor and student peers then will be improved as needed.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students will be able to

  • Work with and navigate the unique features of the digital 3D modeling workspace to create 3D objects. 
  • Identify characteristics of rendering 3D objects for optimal system processing and analysis.
  • Create a 3D environment featuring lighting and textures.
  • Create basic 3D models and animations.
  • Evaluate digital 3D projects, identify items for improvement, and implement changes.

Course Activities and Design

Course material will be presented in a lecture format. This course is designed to maximize learning through the use of strategies such as outcome based instruction", collaborative learning, contextual application and performance based assessment. Lecture material will consist of discussion, diagrams, multimedia, and other educationally sound practices. Other activities will include hands-on utilization of vector and production software. Demonstration and handout materials will be provided.

Outcome Assessment Strategies

Assessment is designed to indicative achievement of the course outcome and performance tasks. The instructor will outline the methods used to assess student progress and the criteria for assigning a grade at the beginning of the course. Assessment will be based upon a combination of in-class participation", attendance, examinations, and quality of the multimedia project(s). Determination of problem solving skills, team work, and communication skills may also be included.
