Students will work in a variety of multimedia situations improving skills in multimedia production, interpersonal communication, team building s, and project management. Participation in the course can be beneficial for students who want on-the-job experiences which are related to their multimedia career goals. The student may be paid depending upon the policies of the employer. This course is not intended to be a job placement class. Arrangements are made with the employer regarding the student's job description and experiences the student is to have while on the job.

The defined outcomes listed in this guide are stated in terms of what the student will be able to do after completing this course. This section is a statement of final learning outcomes and does not attempt to state how, or in what order, the defined outcomes will be presented.

This course is designed to maximize learning through a cooperative work experience. Students will be supervised by a college cooperative supervisor and an on-site supervisor who is typically a company employee.
The student, coordinator/instructor, and employer develop a work experience plan which will meet the learning needs of the student. This plan provides a definition of on-the-job learning activities.
 

Assessment is designed to indicate achievement of the course outcome and performance tasks. The instructor will outline the methods used to assess student progress and the criteria for assigning a grade at the beginning of the course. Assessment will be based upon a combination of participation, attendance, and supervisory evaluations and conferences.
Evaluation procedures will be discussed during preliminary meetings between the student, coordinator/instructor and employer. At least one site visit a term is done by the coordinator and/or instructor.
