6. Discuss ergonomic considerations in the work environment
7. Be able to demonstrate locking out and tagging out of equipment in a safe manner.

Course Activities and Design

This course includes a variety of learning activities. The lecture portion of the course, one hour per week, may include instructor delivered lectures and demonstrations stressing key topics in the course. In preparation for the lecture portion of the course, students are expected to complete all reading and homework assignments. The laboratory portion of the course meets two hours per week. The purpose of the laboratory activities is to develop skills in the understanding of basic safety procedures and how to use them, plus skills in communicating in oral and written form. If possible, tours of semiconductor fabs will be included.
Assessment:Assessment of student performance in this course will be conducted in both the lecture and laboratory portions of the course and may be in the form of written and /or practice-based questions.
