Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Explain the methods of fitting contact lenses
- Explain differences in contact lenses and their appropriate usage.
- Use contact lens assessment and fitting equipment, including keratometers, biomicroscope, radiuscopes, lensometers, gauges, loupes, magnifiers and fluorescent tubes, in order to fit and assess contact lenses.
Course Activities and Design
This course will be presented by means of lecture/discussion, audio/visual presentations, handouts and in lab demonstrations. Guest speakers and field trips may be used to enhance mastery of course goals and student learning.

At the beginning of the course the instructor will detail the methods used to evaluate student progress and criteria for assigning a course grade. These may include examinations, quizzes, homework assignments, research papers, and student participation during class sessions.
