Course Description

Introduces the fundamentals of designing for screens. Includes relevant terminology, structure of screen layouts and elements, typographic practices, and graphic optimization. Prerequisites: GD 116, GD 122, GD 140, GD 151. Prerequisites/concurrent: GD 160.

Addendum to Course Description

A grade of a "B" or higher is required for placement into the second year of the program.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Style screen elements using HTML and CSS.
  • Use semantic code to define typographic hierarchy.
  • Write design specifications appropriate for web development.
