Course Description
Addendum to Course Description
Should be taken in the final term or close to the end of the student’s Gerontology coursework. This final seminar in the career management sequence is designed to celebrate student work as they complete the PCC Gerontology Program and to support ongoing development as a gerontology professional.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion, students should be able to:
- Identify essential resources, skills, and supports needed to develop a gerontology professional practice.
- Demonstrate a gerontological perspective using knowledge and self-reflection.

- Establish a plan to address evolving career and educational/training goals based on experience, interests, and emerging trends in the field of aging.
Course Activities and Design
Through workshop, on-line, and field-based formats, students will participate in a seminar with other gerontology majors and students from other programs interested in learning more about the field of aging; prepare and get feedback appropriate to targeted careers in the field of aging; receive guidance from gerontology faculty; and participate in other individual and collective activities to prepare for entry into or path change within the field of aging.
