Course Description

Introduces theory, knowledge, and skills needed to provide direct services and appropriate interventions to clients and client groups. Covers major methods of direct service delivery, including interviewing, group facilitation, and crisis intervention. Prerequisites: WR 115, RD 115 and MTH 20 or equivalent placement test scores. Audit available.

Intended Outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Identify theories of prevention, intervention, and maintenance in human services.
  • Apply skills to facilitate appropriate direct services and interventions related to client groups, including intake interviewing, group facilitation, and crisis intervention.
