Course Description
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- Read and understand the main topic and flow of events in straightforward paragraph-length texts written in Japanese.

Write a few short paragraphs, often across various time frames about familiar topics and situations.

Speak about a variety of familiar topics and situations using a series of connected sentences and a number of follow up questions.

Listen and understand the main idea and flow of events in conversations and short discussions in Japanese.

Discuss differences between one’s own cultures and Japanese cultural products, practices and perspectives.
