PCC Cascade TRIO: Looking for Writing Tutors (part-time positions)
Posted by hannah.cherry
The TRIO Student Support Services Program at Cascade Campus is in search of new Writing tutors for providing TRIO students with more than basic proofreading support.
To be eligible for the TRIO SSS Program, students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, they’re a First-Generation college student, or they have a documented disability, and TRIO provides additional services to support our students’ success.
Students might be entering the program Reading or Writing below college-level (RD/WR 115 or below) and can really benefit from one-on-one support from a skilled writing tutor who will help examine not only the formatting, citation, spelling, etc. but the content of the paper, and the strength of the thesis statement and information sources as well.
Proficient technology skills are also essential, as this tutor may also provide support to TRIO students enrolled in the CG 111B Study Skills WEB course.
This part-time position will begin Spring term, Week 2 (~10 hrs/wk) and will start at a minimum of $11.25/hr; the wage will increase according to skill and time spent in the position. Students (with or without work study) and non-students are welcome to apply.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please email your resume, references, a copy of transcripts (unofficial OK) that show the grades you have received in writing-heavy courses and any information you find relevant to this position with the TRIO team to: triosss.ca@pcc.edu
