Program Cancellation, Withdrawal, and Refund Policies
Program Cancellation Policy
Study abroad programs can be canceled due to several factors, including low enrollment and multiple criteria related to the health and safety of the local area. These may include travel restrictions due to natural disasters, public health warnings, and Covid-19 rates. The PCC Education Abroad Office works closely with our program provider partners in countries where our programs travel to maintain the health and safety of our students and faculty while abroad. The PCC Education Abroad Office, in consultation with PCC Risk Management, may decide to cancel a program if the risk of sending students and faculty to a particular destination during the program dates is too great.
Withdrawal policy
It is the student’s responsibility to notify the PCC Education Abroad Office directly if they wish to withdraw from the program. A student may officially withdraw from a program by providing written notification with an explanation of their withdrawal to the PCC Education Abroad Office.
A student is not considered withdrawn from a program until written notification is received. Withdrawing from a program does not, however, absolve a student of their responsibility of covering program costs.
If a student withdraws from a PCC study abroad course, standard PCC term payment and timeline deadlines apply. If you need to drop or withdraw from the course, review the?PCC drop deadline website?for more information on timelines and potential financial consequences.
Refund Policy
- The $500 program deposit is non-refundable unless the program is canceled.?If the program cannot run due to low enrollment or other unforeseen reasons, you will receive your $500 deposit back (unless you owe money to the college).
- Once you have confirmed your place in a program and the program deposit deadline has passed, financial expenses and commitments for future expenses will be made on your behalf. The $500 deposit you submit will not be refunded if you drop or withdraw.
- If you withdraw from the course after you pay the deposit but BEFORE course registration, you will not be billed for the remaining program fee and tuition.
- Once the program begins, no refunds will be considered for students.
- PCC is not responsible for any losses incurred by students who become ineligible to attend the program or who are dismissed once the program has begun.
