Study Abroad may provide you with a unique cross-cultural lens in viewing societal issues.? You may even be able to choose a program or location that delves into issues important to you. Perspectives often grow or even shift abroad, and this unique transformation can support your continued role as an activist when you return.
In terms of protests abroad, we recommend you avoid participation in these.? Other countries have varying laws concerning social demonstrations and protests.? As an American in a different country, we hope that you avoid putting yourself at risk. Instead, engage with your faculty, peers, and program provider abroad on the context of issues in your study abroad location.? There will still be many resources for you to learn and explore!
