The North View Gallery is pleased to present work by Portland-based artist Robert Dozono.? Dozono, a long-time faculty member at Portland Community College, now retired, has been renowned for his instruction on drawing and painting the human form. In this exhibition, the artist has reintroduced several large gestural figurative works from his teaching days, reflective of the artist’s immersive process and relentless focus on direct observation. The exhibition also includes a series of watercolor and oil portraits of Dozono’s family members.
Robert Dozono is an exhibiting member of Portland’s Blackfish Gallery, the area’s oldest cooperative exhibition venue. He has served as a panelist on numerous occasions for the Regional Arts and Culture Council, including as chair of the Visual Chronicle of Portland selections committee.? While at PCC, Dozono was active in creating union policy, serving as Vice President of the Faculty Federation for 17 years. Dozono’s artwork is currently featured in the exhibition Visual Magic, at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art on the University Oregon campus in Eugene. He holds a BS in Art from the University of Oregon and an MFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.

Directions: Follow signs to the bookstore and visitor parking. The gallery is located in the Communications and Technology (CT) building, adjacent to the bookstore, on the NE corner of campus.
