This assignment was about toning vivid colors down and making a neutral grey by mixing complements, rather than just using black and white. I mixed up a violet with red and blue and white acrylic paints, and painted a portrait of a wolf in tones and tints of this purple. I finished it with bright yellow eyes.

Pictured is a Native American patterned coyote carrying a stick of fire, while crossing over a diamond which delineates the daytime versus the night, with Monument Valley rock formations in the distance in a monochromatic yellow-orange hue.
