This triptych defines the animal species I closely relate to in the Pacific Northwest. I had never used charcoal before this class and really enjoyed learning a new technique and medium. I wanted to create a good eye flow and utilize color to not only bring visual stability to the work, but to also give a nod to some of the creation myths from local and regional tribes and indigenous folk from the area.
