Jayla Pride | “Bothered”
This media file is attached to: Drawing
Capturing a word or an emotion through words, a mixture of stable mediums (graphite) and volatile supplies (Charcoal/Conté) showcased the meaning of bothered. By contrasting line and form with subdue and abrupt colors, I tried to replicate peace altered by everyday life. Bothered represents my indecision of being angry or moving on. Though I use interlocking shapes and layering to add texture, every stroke comes from needing to put my emotions on paper.
