Silver Fox | “Arctic Fox”

For this assignment, I painted an arctic fox in a sunset using split complementary scheme. That is, one color and the two colors on either side of its direct complement; yellow, blue violet, and red violet. Complementary colors make each other stand out. Yellow appears extra bold behind the different violets, especially because it only takes up a small fraction of the piece. I mixed all my own colors with yellow, red, blue, and white acrylic paints.
