Mae Petit | “Relics of my Family Past”

This was my second time working with gouache which, if you don't know, is like working with watercolor and acrylic in one. We were asked to choose 3 objects to capture a range of values in and I chose a vintage Brownie Hawkeye Camera and 2 pencils that my grandfather owned. Those items have to be at least 50 years old at this point. The ink bottle is only a decade old and something a friend gave me. Nonetheless, this piece speaks to the world that once existed, one that knew little of technology.
