Viewing and Resolving Holds

Holds can be placed by several different departments within Portland Community College and for many different reasons. The first step to resolving a hold is to understand who created and for what reason.

Navigating to the View Holds page

      1. Log-in to your MyPCC Homepage.
      2. Inside of the “Term-to-term checklist” box, under the “Before you register” section, click on “See when (and if) you can register”:An arrow pointing to the "See when (and if) you can register" link on the my.pcc.edu home page.
      3. Select the term that you are wanting to register for from the drop down (1) and then click “Submit” (2):Red arrows pointing to the term selection drop down and the submit button on the Registration Term selection page
      4. This will bring you to the Registration Status page. If you currently have registration holds, you will see a line that reads “You have Holds which will prevent registration”:A red arrow pointing to text that reads "You have Holds which will prevent registration" on the registration status page.
      5. To open the View Holds page, scroll to the bottom of the Registration Status page and click on “View Holds”:A red arrow pointing to the "View Holds" link at the bottom of the Registration Status page.
      6. Here you will see detailed information about your hold:View Holds page showing an Administrative hold for Complete pcc.edu/orientation
      7. Sometimes the hold record may contain directions on how you can resolve the hold (in the example above, you would simply need to go to pcc.edu/orientation and complete the required orientation), in other cases it may be necessary to contact the department listed in the Originator field.
